School stressing you out?

12th September 2023There are many things you can do to improve your mental health, and what works best for you may depend on your individual needs and circumstances. Here’s one idea that may help: try setting aside some time each day for mindfulness meditation.
Mindfulness meditation is a simple practice that involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment. You can do it anywhere and at any time, and it doesn’t require any special equipment.
To get started, find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed, and sit in a comfortable position, with your back straight. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, focusing on the sensation of the air moving in and out of your nose. Then, bring your attention to your breath, and notice the sensation of the air moving in and out of your body. If your mind starts to wander, that’s okay; just notice where it went and gently bring your attention back to your breath.
You can start with just a few minutes a day, and gradually increase the amount of time you spend meditating as you become more comfortable with the practice.
Mindfulness meditation can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and concentration, and promote feelings of well-being. Give it a try and see if it helps improve your mental health. If you can combine physical exercise, enough sleep, good nutrition, socialising, and talking to a therapist if you need, that can be also a good idea.
